Helena (artist name), born Kisha Helena Baggs in 1980, started drawing like most people at a young age. It was not until High School (Bremerton High School) that Helena decided to pursue art as a career, graphic design, to be precise. While attending Olympic College in Bremerton, Helena started Buddy-Man Arts a freelance graphic design service, creating logos, flyers, presentations and more for people all around the world.
After accepting a job as a publisher assistant at The Arts & Crafts Press, in 2003, Helena learned a great deal about business and the publishing of note cards and books. Helena was inspired by Bruce Smith and Yoshiko Yamamoto to start her own greeting card line and thus, Buddy-Girl Greeting was born.
Helena using techniques she has learned from her past job experiences, schooling, her love of art, and all the inspiration she gets from everyday life, to creates original designs you can not get anywhere else. |
